Day 8 - Saint Wolfgang im Salzkammergut

Mikey Commentary:
Wake up with a slightly swollen ankle from an insect bite. Have a lazy morning with a nice lie in then ask the receptionist for a good cycle route. She gives us a map and tells us to cycle up to illinger alm which we later find out is the mountain next to zwolflehorn. We then proceed up the mountain taking our time with frequent stops for water and photos of the great views. Stop at the cafe near the top for a brief refreshment before continuing to the top. It took 3.5 hours. While at the top have some lunch and a rest. Then speed down the mountain in about 25 mins. Have a drive around the lake to st wolfgang and park up. Walk along the lake front and go to a restaurant just up the road from hotel zimmerbrau. Have a pizza and then travel back to camp.

Super memorable day. One of the places on the trip I would 100% aim to revisit. Stunning scenery. The cafe at the top of the mountain after the cycle was 10/10, maybe just because we'd worked so hard to be there!
